Today saw the arrival of three yearlings from the sales.

Trainer David Balfour has a Bainconi filly and God's Own filly,

settled in well and are learning the routine here

ARRIVING AT THE STUD 16/1/12

St Gabriel arrived at Glenferrie today, on the back of a win

at Morphettville on Saturday 14/1, for trainer David Balfour.

Also arriving was an unnamed Dubai Destination filly for

trainer Ryan Balfour, affectionately known as Pippa.

ANOTHER WIN 1/1/12

Along with a win for Obsidian Dragon yesterday, David Balfour also

had High Finance win at Morphettville. Congratulations!!

GO OBSIDIAN DRAGON!!!! 1/1/12

Well deserved congratulations to trainer David Balfour with back to

back wins with Obsidian Dragon! The filly won at Morphettville on

the 10th of Decemeber, and again yesterday at Moonee Valley!

LEAVING THE STUD 20/12/12

Today saw Generous Belle, Couldn't Agreemore and an unnamed

Hidden Dragon filly return to town for trainer David Balfour.

Today saw the arrival of Sister Akhapacs and her colt foal

from De Beers. It is lovely to have a foal at the stud again,

and the other horses were all very interested to check him out!

Today saw the departure of two stud favourites, El Prado Gold

and Lost Fong. Both are returning to training in town and we

wish them well. Today also saw the arrival of Gone Without, who

has spelled at the stud before. All horses are from David Balfour.

VISITORS TO THE STUD 19/11/11

Today saw David and Bernadette, owners of El Prado Gold visit the stud

and their boy. El Prado Gold aka Artie lost his paddock companion

yesterday, but was already settling in well with new paddock mate

Kungka Can Run aka Kanga.

COMINGS AND GOINGS AT THE STUD 18/11/11

Today saw the arrival of two horses from trainer David Balfour, a Zizou filly

Generous Belle and an unnamed Hidden Dragon filly. Also departing the stud

was Ishiever and a Dubai Destination filly from David and Ryan Balfour

respectively. The Dubai Destination filly has been a long time paddock

companion of El Prado Gold and will be missed!

EL PRADO GOLD IS ONE POPULAR BOY 7/11/11

Today we had Kathy and Denny who are also owners of El Prado Gold come out

for a visit. The boy must think he is a superstar with all this attention!!

Affectionately known as Artie, both he and his paddock mate aka Pippa, were

once again given pats and carrots. It is lovely to see the horses getting visits

from their owners.

OUT TO VISIT 5/11/11

Today we had a visit from David and Bernadette again, owners of El Prado Gold.

He and his mate, a Dubai Destination filly were once again impressed with all

the attention, and the other horses at the stud were pretty happy as they all

got carrots too. Even Cooper the dog got a few!

Couldn't Agreemore arrived at Glenferrie today for trainer David Balfour. He has

spelled at the stud when he was younger and is by Not A Single Doubt.

Today we had a visit from David and Bernadette, who are owners of El Prado Gold.

He was very spoilt with lots of carrots, although would not let his paddock mate a

Dubai Destination filly of Ryan Balfour's too far from his sight!

Today saw Obsidian Dragon and Ishiever arrive at the stud for trainer David Balfour.

Both fillies are from sire Hidden Dragon. Leaving the stud was Zaeimus, Kissenfire,

Generous Miss and an unnamed Hidden Dragon filly.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!! 24/8/11

The last month has proved to be a very busy one with the weather finally getting warmer.

Many horses have come and gone from the stud. Those currently at Glenferrie include

Five Iron, Kissenfire, Zaeimus, Magarey Miss, an unnamed Hidden Dragon filly, St Gabriel,

Stonehaven and an unnamed Zizou filly from trainer David Balfour. Sachse and Valaija are

at the stud from trainer Peter Macdonald, and an unnamed Consolidator filly from trainer

Mark Minervini. Returning to town this week have been Right Fong for David Balfour, and

Cat Trick and an unnamed Desert Sun gelding for Peter Macdonald.

BACK TO GLENFERRIE FOR A SPELL 15/7/11

Today saw Sachse return to Glenferrie for a spell, along with a Desert Sun gelding from trainer

Peter Macdonald. Returning to town after his spell was Caleja, also from Macdonald.

SAD NEWS 11/7/11

It is with deep regret we wish to report the news of the passing of Harry Frauenfelder last

Wednesday. Harry was a trusted and dedicated vet, and had been treating horses at Glenferrie

for over 25 years. He will be dearly missed. From all of us here at the stud we wish to pass on

condolences to his wife Judy and their family.

Today saw the departure of an unnamed filly from Eminently, heading to the breakers. Also

leaving the stud was Generous Beau, heading back into training in town. Returning were two

Hidden Dragon fillies, one unnamed arriving back from the breakers, and the other Kissenfire

arriving back from town. All horses are from trainer David Balfour.

NEW ARRIVAL 22/6/11

Arriving at Glenferrie today was mare Arpitan from trainer Ricky Moore. Arpitan has spelled

here in the past and is out to enjoy another spell.

BACK TO GLENFERRIE 18/6/11

Arriving back at Glenferrie Stud yesterday was Caleja from trainer Peter Macdonald. Caleja

has spelled here in the past, and was happy to be back out in a paddock today familiarising

himself with all that was happening at the stud.

RETURN TO THE STUD 15/6/11

Today saw the return of Balarat from racing in town. Also returning to the stud was an unnamed

Zizou filly, back from the breakers. Both horses are from trainer David Balfour.

NEW FACE AT GLENFERRIE STUD 10/6/11

Arriving last night at the stud, fresh from the races at Penola was Cat Trick, from trainer

Peter Macdonald. The filly haspreviously been racing in Melbourne, with a few races in

Adelaide now under her belt. It is her first stay at Glenferrie and she has been out enjoying

a leg stretch in her new paddock today.

BACK TO TOWN 8/6/11

Today saw the departure of Five Iron, Henryfield, and an unnamed grey gelding affectionately

known as Lost Fong, for trainer David Balfour. We wish all three the best of luck with their

continuing careers!

OFF TO THE BREAKERS 31/5/11

Today we farewelled a young Jetspur gelding from owner Ros Betts, who is heading off to

get broken in.

Our Iridium is a lovely, big filly from Refuse To Bend who has spelled here at Glenferrie Stud a 

few times in the past years.

Today saw the departure of an unnamed Hidden Dragon filly from David Balfour, heading

off to be broken in. We also saw the arrival back from the breakers of an unnamed Dubai

Destination filly from trainer Ryan Balfour. She is back out enjoying paddock life with new

friend Tigerlani from David Balfour.

BACK TO THE STUD 20/5/11

Arriving back at Glenferrie today fresh from racing in town was A Wee Dram, from trainer

David Balfour. A Wee Dram is a stud regular and has been visiting here for spells for many

years. She is out in a paddock with new companion LostFong, also from Balfours. Leaving

for town was Gone Without, off to go into racing for David Balfour.

LEO'S BACK AT GLENFERRIE! 19/5/11

Today saw the arrival of Generous Beau from David Balfour. He has had a few spells at

Glenferrie Stud, and being from Lionheart has always affectionately been known as Leo.

He is back out enjoying stretching his legs in a paddock. Wealso saw the departure of

Noir Rasoir, and an unnamed Zizou filly for Balfour's.
